Totalis 71
(Ammonium salt of Glyphosate 71% SC)Category: Herbicide
🌾Usage: Suitable for multiple crops
Volunteer crops are also regarded as weeds in a subsequent crop as they can greatly impact the upcoming crop’s yield. In such cases, non selective herbicides are preferred to prepare the field for the upcoming crop. Totalis 71 is a non selective post-emergence herbicide for annual perennial, broad-leaf and grassy weeds. Its translocation action ensures that the process of knocking down of weed reaches the roots. It is especially effective against the difficult to control weeds.
- ⚙️Mode of Action
Non-selective, systemic herbicide of the Organophosphorus group. Once sprayed on the foliage of the weed, it is transmitted throughout the plant via translocation action. It hence reaches the roots & rhizomes of the plant.
Upon reaching all area, it inhibits formulation of an essential plant enzyme called ESPS (5-Enolpyruvyl – Shikimate -3 – phosphate Synthase). Inhibition of this enzyme prevents the production of aromatic amino acids required for protein synthesis within the plant. Lack of the protein synthesis results in the death of treated weeds/plants. This process generally takes 7 to 12 days from start to finish.Hence, Totalis 71 destroys the weed from its leaves to the root system.
Apart from annual and perennial weeds, Magic 71 is also recommended for aquatic weeds due to its efficiency. It can kill all types of weeds if sprayed in open fields, bunds and water channels. Its application is recommended in the Tea crop for controlling weeds. It does not affect the germination of ensuing crops and any crop can be grown after its application. When weeds are at least 4 to 8 leaf stage
