Velocity 29
(CLODINAFOP PROPARGYL 9% + METRIBUZIN 20% WP)Category: Weedicide
🌾 Usage : Suitable for multiple crops
Many weeds are structurally close to the target crop. To get rid of them is especially difficult. In such cases, a special class of chemicals called Selective Weedicides is recommended. Velocity 29 is a highly selective, post emergence herbicide used in the control of Phalaris minor & other grassy and broad leaved weeds in cereal crops mainly wheat. Its high selectivity for wheat makes it highly recommended for use. Its dual action is highly effective & fast acting making it ideal for usage.
- ⚙️Mode of Action
Velocty 29 contains two active ingredients namely Clodinafop and Metribuzin. The herbicidal combination acts by inhibition of Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase (ACC) enzyme of the weed and by inhibition of Photosynthetic electron transport. The most important function of ACC is to provide the malonyl-CoA substrate for the biosynthesis of fatty acids (when the enzyme is active, the product, malonyl-CoA, is produced which is a building block for new fatty acids). A photosynthesis inhibitor stops the conversion of sunlight into chemical energy. Hence, Racer with its dual action helps farmers to get rid of weeds quickly.
Its translocation action helps it travel throughout the plant finally accumulating in the growing region of the crop where it acts as a growth inhibitor. It is a post-emergence herbicide, finishing annual and perennial broadleaf weeds in wide range of crops.
Dosage: 240 gm per acre with 120ltr of water.
- It should be manufactured indigenously.
- First fill 1/3 or ½ of the knapsack sprayer tank with clean water and put the water soluble pouch of herbicide.
- Gently stir the soluble until the whole pouch and its contents fully dissolve in water.
- Now, add the rest of the water to the sprayer tank to make up the volume for spraying.
- Plant Protection Equipment: Knapsack or foot-operated sprayers fitted with a flat fan or flood jet type of nozzle.
- Limitation for use: It should not be used in crops for which it has not been recommended. It should never be used in combination with any insecticides, urea or plant growth regulators.
